pampering and why we need it

Nails with Friends

I think that most of you can agree that there's nothing more relaxing than getting pampered in a salon.  Whether its receiving a massage, a mani or pedi, a facial, or even getting a shampoo, they are all much needed after a long week of work.  many of us are  juggling the many tasks that comes along with our personal and professional lives.  Learning the balance between the two can be somewhat of an issue for some people.  We can easily become overwhelmed and lose sight of what's most important....taking care of oneself.  It is important that we set time aside to pamper ourselves so that we are able to reenergize.

1.  Treat yourself.  Whether its a shopping spree or dining in to your favorite restaurant, take a day for yourself.  Spending time with self and allowing yourself to disconnect, promotes calmness and makes us feel like the goddess we truly are.

2. Get a massage.  Massages are a great way to pamper yourself.  They increase blood flow which allows for good relaxation.  Routine massages whether weekly or monthly not only relaxes your body but is also great for your skin as well.

3.  Bubble bath anyone?  Bubble baths are a great way to relax and relieve stress.  Adding bath salts, leaves, bath bombs, barks, and aromatherapy oils may be added to sooth and calm the body as well. Aromatherapy stimulates brain function.  The oils are inhaled and travels through bloodstream which promotes systematic body healing.  adding a glass of wine to drink is an added bonus!

4. Manicures and Pedicures.  Receiving a manicure or pedicure is a great way to relieve stress and relax.  The hands and feet are filled with pressure points.  Applying pressure to pressure points has been proven to lower anxiety and release stress.  It also has been proven to heal aliments elsewhere which is called reflexology.

5. Get a facial.  Facials are a great way to pamper yourself.  Not only are facials relaxing, but they also slows down the aging process.  Each day that we get older, our skin will show it.  Facials promote new cell growth, removes dark spots, and diminishes wrinkles.    Facials helps even skin tones and most importantly cleanses pores.
